More Information about TEAM CONTEST

The four-team members are given 10 minutes to discuss and distribute among themselves the first 8 questions. Each student must attempt to solve at least one problem. Each member has 35 minutes to write independently the solutions of his/her allotted problem with no further discussion or exchange of problems. The four-team members are allowed to solve together for 15 minutes the last 2 problems.

• Individual Award: gold, silver, bronze medals and merit certificates.

Approximately two-thirds of the contestants will receive Individual Awards,     in the form of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals as well as merit certificates,       approximately in the ratio, 1 : 2 : 3 : 4.

• Team Award: Champion, 1^st, 2^nd runner-up trophies and honorable mention.

In the team contest, the total score of all contestants in each team is       considered the team score. The teams are first ranked by their total scores.       Ties are broken according to the scores of team contest problems, starting       with the most difficult ones. Prizes will be given to one Champion, two 1^st       runners-up and three 2^nd runners-up of different groups. Grouping will be       done through drawing of lots.

• Group Award: Champion, 1^st and 2^nd runner-up trophies

The highest score of the three contestants in each team for Individual       Contest will be summed up. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams with the       highest scores of each group in the form of one Champion, two 1^st       runners-up and three 2^nd runners-up. In case of a tie, the team whose 4th       contestant scores with higher marks in the Individual Contest wins.

• Overall Award: Grand Champion, 1^st and 2^nd runner-up trophies

The Overall Prize is awarded to the team that obtains the highest score       computed as follows: the sum of the four-team members’ score in the       Individual Contest and of the team’s score in the Team Contest. The       maximum score is 4×150+400=1000 (for EMIC) and 4×120+400=880 (for      IWYMIC). Grand Champion, 1^st and 2^nd runners-up will be awarded.

• Certificate: Every participant will receive a CIMC 2015 certificate.

• Each participating city or country has to apply for its participation. It should specify the number of participating teams for each division to the organizer through these e-mails (ccmp@seed.net.tw,  jdfz2006@sina.com and 444246273@qq.com, simon_l_chua@yahoo.com). A notice of confirmation must be sent on or before 30 March 2015.
• A filled-up application form must be submitted via e-mail to the organizer on or before 30 May 2015.

Each participating team must inform the organizer about its arrival and departure schedules at Longjia International Airport (CGQ) on or before  15 June 2015.

• The organizer will take charge of all official expenses of the teams of each invited city or country including accommodations, meals, and sightseeing during the official period of the competition in Changchun City, China (27 July -1 August 2015).

Observers, parents and other accompanying persons have to pay US$650 for    the accommodation, meals, transportation, and sightseeing during the period     of official competition.

The student who wants to stay hotel with their parents has to pay extra 200 dollars.

• Each participating team is responsible for the travelling expenses from their homeland to Longjia International Airport (CGQ), including payment of visa fees and other expenses for their entry to China.
• Any team arriving in Changchun from any other place in China must be responsible for their transportation expenses. However, shuttle bus from Changchun Airport to the contest venue is free.

• Inform the organizer in advance of any specified dietary requirements or restrictions;
• Prepare at most 5 minutes cultural performance for the cultural night; (Prepare gift for exchange of souvenir items)
• Complete visa procedures before arriving in China.
• Check Chinese Immigration Service website the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (http://cs.mfa.gov.cn/wgrlh/lhqz/lhqzjjs/) to prevent possible problems.
• Homestay program is one activity where participants will be invited to stay with the selected students of the High School Attached to Jilin University. The homestay program will start on 29^th July to early morning of 1^st August, before departure.
• After 8 years, the participants of 2007 IMC are welcome to make a sentimental journey to Changchun again. They are invited to participate in the opening and closing programs and they may, if they wish to, perform in the cultural night. The CIMC 2015 organizer will arrange a special tour for them. Each delegate have to pay US$650 for the accommodation, meals, transportation, and sightseeing during the period of official competition.
